Hi

Wifey and i picked up our first van a few days ago and looking forward to our first trip.

Got the manual out today for a proper read and find out how everything works.

Im not sure the electrical section is sinking in too well.

Would i be right in saying that to charge the battery while the van is at home i plug it into the mains via the hookup point switch the charger on and put the car/van switch in the van position .

Please tell me i am right and not stupid.

Cheers

If you are going somewhere without hookup and you want around 20%+ more power (a guess) unhook the supply for a couple of hours and use a stand alone charger to charge the battery to 14.8V instead of the on board chargers 13.8V, it makes a very noticeable difference.

blu, To answer your original question that is how my van works.

Van position: Van 12 equipment is fed from the caravan battery and will be charged via the charger if it is ON. This is also the position to charge via the car whilst on the move via pin 4 of the 12S.

Mid position: the van battery is disconnected and van 12v euipment can be fed via the charger if it is ON.

Car Position: The car 12v permanent supply on pin 4 of the 12S feeds the caravan 12v circuits.
