Hi all

Can anyone help identify this old caravan? Badge has fallen off and I can't seem to find any indication of its make or year of manufacture. Possibly a 1960 Sprite 400?

Definitely a Sprite 10 or 12 ft model. I had one in the 70s. I think it's the 12 ft model as the 10 ft didn't have the grey band-it was all white.
It should have gas lights and a 2 burner hob. No oven etc but a big round black thing in the floor just in front of the sink-press it down, turn it anti clockwise and it should pop up-you can then pumb your water to the tap!
Toured Europe with ours many times-4 of us in a 10ft! I'll see if I can dig out some pictures for you

I've been looking online and I'm pretty sure it's the 1962 to 1964 model. It's 10 foot long! The interior is pretty damaged but it has the burner and sink and hammock bed. The table is missing and the door is in pieces but the shell and chassis are sound!

I take it you are going to renovate this caravan. ?
That's the plan! It won't be a restoration as such but I'll certainly make her pretty again. I'm not sure how much of the original interior is salvageable (or even how much is still there) but I have found the original layout online so I hope to follow that.

Looking at the enlarged photo,
The style and the horizontal panel and colour spits are typical of Sprite in the 1960's.
Based on the width of the door opening, divided into the whole length it points to a 10ft model.
Just above the hinge side of the door the picture suggests the roof has a small fold line rather than a continual curve to the profile.
The front window is also quite narrow.
The roof also has a bit of a fold line rather than just a smooth curve

Rooting through Google images I have found this which looks to have the same features Its listed as "Dotty, 1964 sprite 400 vintage, retro caravan". However there are other caravans also listed as 1964 sprite 400's with different roof lines, so I can't be certain about the specific model your interested in.

I am pretty sure it is a Sprite but there were a couple of very similar models from other firms about at that time.
