Help! Leak somewhere from fresh water

Can anybody please help we've had our 2009 swift escape motirhome for just over a year we bought it second hand with relatively low mileage 7000 we have had a few problems in the last year but after our holiday in France this summer we have discovered a leak somewhere around the fresh water tank, my partner has removed the water tank that does not appear to have a leak in the actual tank he has checked and replaced the pipes into the tank, but has not resolve the issue we are very concerned and very upset as the water has penetrated the Side wall of a campervan and it is soft to touch has anybody had any similar problems or any solutions. Thanks

Hi there and a warm welcome to the Practical Motorhome forum. I hope you had a good time in France before this occurred. I'm sure someone with technical knowledge will be able to help soon.

Just a thought = Have you been travelling with full fresh water tank ? If so the movement surge could be sending water up the vent pipe & discharging into the van or directly against the side wall.

Flicka

That certainly sounds like a very likely cause and worth following up !

That would create surges with the van movement up/down or side to side etc ....

Hello. We have a Swift Escape 622 2012 model and have had so many problems with the accommodation area . We had water entering the van and it turned out that the overflow pipe Swift had installed was too short!!. When the tank was full of water it was coming in to the van. This caused damp and luckily it was still under warranty.
