Help Needed Citreon C5

My friend has just bought Citreon C5 2.2 HDI auto Hatch(2005)

and is finding discrepancy with Max tow weights.Anyone got any information on this,or also tow with one?How do they perform...

Thanks Gary

Funnily enough, two sources of data that I have also show different figures for the same model. The safest bet would be for your friend to check in the handbook or, better still, the details on the VIN plate (usually to be found on the front or dash panel under the bonnet)

I have a 2.2HDI estate and had the same problem trying to ascertain the kerb weight. Depending where I looked I got 3 different figures. I took it to a weighbridge to get the correct figure which was different to any I could find listed!

That one is unable to ascertain the kerbweight is not surprising, but the question was regarding the max. permissible towload. I have found two figures, 1400kg and 1500kg, and I am unable to confirm which is correct.

My handbook gives a significantly lower towload for the automatic hatchback against the manual gearbox. The lowest gross trailer weight figure is only 1000kgs on a 12% incline although this is taken from a 2001 handbook. To be certain of the weight for your vehicle you need to contact Citroen.
