Help requested, Holiday Park Unity - Brean

We are planning to loan our van to our divorced son and 11 year old grandson for a week in the summer holidays. We are looking at the subject site which I know several readers are familiar with. As we have never visited this site before we would be grateful for a pointer as to whether to book the hardstanding pitch or grass. I notice from the 360 degree views on their web site (yellow field) that there may be a problem with the pegging out of our porch awning if hardstandings are brick. Can anyone advise me which is the most suitable. We always lean toward hard standings if allowed a choice and taking account of the likely weather conditions given the usual British summer! But we don't want to arrive and find we cannot peg the awning out satifactorily owing to the type and dimensions of the hardstanding pitch. We are tempted to book grass but again this could be a muddy paddy field under water etc etc.
Could anyone who is familiar with this site advise us please?
Many thanks

Hi Paul
Unity is an old favourite of mine although we haven't visited for a couple of years.
The hard standings are either tarmac or concrete, depending on which part of the yellow field you are on, and there could be some difficulty in pegging out the awning although there is a strip of grass between each hard standing.
The grass pitches used to flood in very wet weather but the owners installed a new drainage system a few years ago which significantly alleviated this problem. There are wardens assigned to each camping field and they rotate pitches whenever possible to allow the grass time to recover although some pitches still suffer from patches of worn out grass. If I wanted to use the awning personally I'd choose a grass pitch but if the one that your son is taken to by the warden looks too muddy reject it, they have lots to choose from.

Paul, completely off the subject but if you are loaning the van to your son check your insurance as some policies exclude this. If yours does ring them to see if they will cover it for an extra sum.

Raywood, thanks for this, I have checked and they are OK with it although I will be towing it there and back myself under my car insurance of course.
