Milton steriliser which is used for babies bottles is ok to use providing that you don't exceed the dosage of steriliser in the water (the amount will be in the instructions supplied by Milton) and don't leave the sterilising fluid in your water system for over two hours.

Flush the system and aquaroll out with clean water afterwards.

For the attention of Parksy

Hi Parksy I have just had a look on my bottle of Miltons and I cant find anywhere where it tells me how much to put in Aqua roll.

Pretty sure it's 20mml per 5 litres or one capful per 5 Litres.

l put eight capfuls for one Aquarol ran it through the system, left it for twenty minutes, then flushe out with 40litres of fresh water.

As Parksy mentions, Milton will do the trick. However, if you have any doubt then many of us carry a separate water bottle of 5 litre size and fill that direct from the mains and use it for tea etc. Avoids any issues with the water system and you use that for washing etc.

Some people fit an inline filter system under the sink which appears to do a good job, or carry a free standing jug filter.

However, in the real world it is unlikely you will have many problems as the Aquaroll is filled and emptied fairly rapidly so the water does not lie in there too long. You also boil the water for tea. For children drinking, use a separate bottle as mentioned above, but do not buy bottled water from shops, unless you are very rich.

Hi use citric acid, instead of Milton.use a tablespoon to half a aqua roll, leave in the system for 1/2 hr then flush with clear water. Purchase citric acid from local home brew outlet or the chemist. This will not cause a possable problem with the hot water tank as its pos with Milton.

15ml per 2.5litres of water. If you have an inline filter either clean the system then change if or take it out and bridge the gap with a bridging length of pipe and connectors.
