help with blu ray player !!!!

Greetings all,
now someone on here must be able to help me !!!
i've purchased a tecnika blu ray player from tesco to go with my tecnika tv ...........however when i play any disc all i get is the background noise and no voices, if i plug it into the lounge tv which is a sony everything works fine
does anyone know what i'm doing wrong ?

Hi Mark,Is it connected via HDMI lead.Not all tv's switch across automatically,press the input or av button,use up /down arrows to select HDMI,press ok/enter.
