We are planning a visit to Edinburgh in the autumn for a family wedding.
We live near Guildford Surrey and propose to travel for about 100 miles a day. What advice can you give us for the best route, campsites on route and in or near to Edinburgh itself. Small sites and not too expensive are preferable. We are not members of the cc.
Thanks for any help.

I can suggest a few sites but you need to be a member of CC or CCC. At North Berwick is a CL (East Forune Farm). This is about 50 miles from Edinburgh and you can get there from the nearby train station. They have EHU but no showers etc. Quiet with good farm walks. (They have a small commercial site as well but haven't used that.) The CC site at Berwick is OK. Full facilities and great views but we found it rather tight. Beach within walking. Both are easy to access and take all sizes. For CCC the site at Alnwick is excellent with beach walkable. The site at Dunbar is good as well. Both are full facilities.

Yellowcraigs, CC site at Dirleton near to North Berwick with its mainline station to Edinburgh, or an easy thirty minute drive.
Usual CC high standards and a few minutes walk to a beautiful beach, if you are keen you can walk the beach to North Berwick, partake of some fantastic fish & chips and enjoy a leisurely walk back.
