Herzog awnings

Just heard of these, so Googgled Herzog. They look quite a nice thing.

Has anyone got/had one and if so,what's the quality like and are they value for money?

Dave,

For a couple of years we had a Herzog Explorer Touring - basically a self-supporting motorhome type awning, but adjusted at the factory so that it's a perfect match for the Eriba Touring caravans.

So what's it like?

Good points: Quick and easy to erect - just like putting up a big umbrella, the knuckle joints are good, strong storm proof poles, plenty of space...

Other points: Dark blue tent fabric is a bit claustrophobic on a winter's day, modern light-weight tent fabric on a rainy day is just like a wet shower curtain...

The images show two steps in the erection process - and just a few seconds apart - once the "knuckles" had been clicked...

Ultimately after several years use, we sold our Herzog and replaced it with a Dutch Fortex Aronde.

We used to have a Kyham Ridgi-dome tent and this looks like a similar concept. It was very easy to erect and stayed solid during high winds.
