We have just got back from our very first caravan experience and enjoyed every minute of it. We used to camp in a tent several years ago until I had a back injury and could no longer manage. After years of either going without a holiday or going self catering (we have dogs)we decided to take the plunge and go for a caravan, to test out whether we would like it we went for a 19 year old Eldis Hurricane XL that cost us peanuts compared to a newer van.
We went to the C&CC club site at Sandringham for a first trip, just a couple of hours tow, I was a bit nervous of towing but found it to be ok.
Of course we had a few minor problems setting up but nothing that couldn't be sorted, although we never did work out how to get the caravan level until we were leaving and a kind gentleman helped us get the caravan hitched up and then explained where we had gone wrong!!
'We' are Ann & Michelle, and now proud to call ourselves caravanners and wishing we had tried it out years ago. This was our first trip of hopefully many, although we have a lot to learn we are very keen and is everyone is as helpful as they were at Sandringham then we will be ok
