Hello just to introduce myself I'm Brian and new to the forum, our outfit is a Swift Charisma 555 2008, towing with a 2009 Honda crv 2.2ctdi ex, been away a couple of times so far and absolutely love it, this is our first caravan and we have a 3 year old girl, and another girl due next week ;)
Been away a few times withe the caravan in using our previous car ( mondeo titanium x sport 2009 2.2 tdci ) changed it for the Honda as the mondeo just felt like it was struggling a bit.
We have a full Isabella Capri lux awning and can't wait to get away in it this year.
Were from the east midlands and were members of the camping and caravan club.

Exciting times for you with your first caravan and a new little caravanner on the way to keep your 3 year old company.
Let's hope that we get some good sunshine this year so that you can enjoy more trips away together.

Welcome Brian

We have a Capri lux and use the Hercules tool from Isabella to get the tension right. A first class awning.

Any plans for your next trip?

Hello Brian and welcome to the forum. Good to hear that even though you've only been out a couple of times, you love caravanning

It's a great hobby - caravanners are a friendly lot and you'll meet some really nice folk as you visit various sites.
Happy and safe caravanning!

Hi brian welcome to the forum. I've got to ask, although I'll probably wish I hadn't bothered; what's a Hercules tool?

Hello everyone, just joined the forum so here's some info about myself. I have been caravaning for around 35 years with my good lady wife. We had various caravans over the years until converting to the motorhome brigade some 4 years ago. However, after tearing around the UK and Europe in this, we have just this week taken delivery of our spanking new Lunar Conquest 554 caravan with a view to settling down on holiday and relaxing in one place for a week or two. Our choice of towcar was a Ford Kuga and first impressions on picking up the van were very good indeed. We generally stay at Caravan Club sites but lately have branched out into private venues for a bigger choice of facilites, particularly when we take the grandchildren away to keep them occupied. They particularly like the swimming pools!
Although we have traveled through a lot of Europe,we love France and have already got our ferry booked for later this year. We are hoping to get down to the Alps for 3 weeks, an area we have not visited yet. As we use the ACSI card which we find not only cheap but very flexible I would like to ask other forum members if they have used any really good, relaxing sites in this area that take ACSI. Any info would be most welcome. Thank you, look forward to joining you in your chats!

Hello Backwoodsman (and apologies to Brian the OP who'se thread seems to have been hijacked because I can't move this post into a separate thread of it's own

Welcome to the Practical Caravan Forum and congratulations on buying your Lunar. I'm sure that you will receive some good ideas on French sites if you ask on the Overseas Parks & Touring message board.
