Just seen a can of spray paint with a very shiny chrome lid - indicating this is the colour and shine finish of the paint inside.
Being a bit sceptical, I suspect that the finish would not be as the lid, has anyone used this product and if so does it give a good shine finish?

Thanks

I purchased a tin a couple of years ago to try and renovate/replicate the polished aluminium rings on my car's wheel centre caps. I found it very difficult to get a consistent finish and it was noting like the effect shown on the lid. It was too easy for the paint to run before drying and using light coats seemed to make the finish even more matt. Polishing it just seemed to remove the top layer onto the duster. Basically a waste of time for me - unless someone else knows what they are doing !

Don't expect a chrome plate look-alike finish. At best it will look like brushed aluminium.

I've seen and tried the chrome in a can. Mine was plasticote. It is aimed at the model builder and crafting market. No matter how hard they try paint will not replace chrome plating.
The paint looks goog while still wet. But after a few days the shiny finish (nowhere near the finish on the lid) tarnishes and looks no better than silver smoothrite. At least with smoothrite & hammerite the rust resistance is good.
