High winds and awning, top tip.

Here on the edge of Bodmin Moor the winds the last few weeks have been horrendous.

Our steel framed full sized awning has took a proper battering, and what was happening the steel roof poles would by force of the gales to be push within themselves, the thumb locks simply not capable of stopping this happening.

Solution, metal jubilee clips clamped around the smaller tube via a cordless drill with socket attachment.
If you use a screwdriver put a towel between the clip and fabric just in case.

Must have had plus 50mph gusts with but jubilee clips no issues at all.

The pole clamps on both our Isabella Ambassador awning with steel poles and NR Coniston porch with alloy poles were fine and never moved despite gale-force winds several times.
