Hitch Problem

I've just returned from holiday last night and cannot get my Alko hitch to release from the car towball. Any suggestions ?

This is a common occurance.

If you have just reversed, pull forward a little and it should release assuming you have stopped on a reasonably level surface.

This is a topic which needs a bit more input (from Alko maybe) I too have this problem but find it much easier to unhitch when I have just reversed, quite the opposite from what Rod is saying. Any explanations would be helpful.

I had that problem again yesterday.Jiggling with the motor mover does the trick every time.If the coupling is pushing or pulling on the towball it causes the problem

Alko are very good at replying but expect something along the lines of make sure that the stabiliser handle is vertical and lift the black hitch handle fully.

Jiggling is the thing (smily face)
