Holgates carvan park

Hi fellow vanners,

I have just booked a stay in Holgates caravan park near silverdale over in cumbria the site looks nice on the interweb and the magazines BUT they always do dont they?

Has anyone been to the site and give us any gossip on it wheather its nice or not and what the aminaties like let me know.

we went for thr first time a couple of months ago,the facilities are 1st class.pitches are as far as i could see hard standing so take some rock pegs.the road to holgates is not very caravan freindly so do beware of very narrow roads and oncoming traffic.it is expensive as sites go but would go again,well worth a visit.

it is a lovely site with great facilities and the pool is first class, we did find a bit of snobery on site but just smiled then had a good laugh at them that thought they where better than us, one guy towed his van on site then dissapeared for two hours returning in a porsche only to do the reverse on sunday. and keep a look out for the coronation street stars a number of whom have static vans on site and try the local pubs down the road we had some superb meals in them. the only real bad thing about holgates is the price, even with the facilities on offer the price is outragous and not justified.

We go to Holgates at least a dozen times every year, it is a first class site and immaculate. The leisure facilities are as good as any 5 star hotel and the area is outstanding. Try the Albion pub in Arnside for a decent meal. As far as prices go I would only rate it expensive if there are only two of you. The circa

Poor guy presumably could not afford a Cayanne. That would pull his van and give him the street cred he so obviously wants.
