We have booked ferry to take caravan to France for 4 weeks, mid Aug to mid Sept. Our plan is Calais 1 night then travelling to Brittany possibly Vannes area for 5 - 6 days, can anyone recommend a site mid way between these places for a couple of nights, we have stayed at Le Brevedent on a couple of occasions and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again but thought it might be good to have a change. After our time in Brittany travelling down to St Emillion and again would like a couple of days stay mid way, so advice/recommendations of good sites appreciated. After this up to Loches for a time and then breaking our journey near Chartres before going back to Calais, so again sites near Chartres needed. We have in the past used Castel sites, camping cheques and this year have just ordered the ASCI book to give that a go.

Any info/advice on this proposed trip/route would be appreciated.

Hi - Surely there's someone out there that can recommend a site between Calais and Brittany and then between Brittany and St Emillion, have heard that Royan area is nice, so can anyone recommend anywhere near there.

Hi

We have been to a site at St. George Didonne in the Girone and it was lovely right on the beach but never been in high season. We have also been to the Ile de Re which is beautiful but once again never in high season. There are many sites in that area look in the caravan club europe 1. book and then go onto various campsite websites for information.

Hi Tobago

The distance from Calais to Vannes is not that great, unless you really want to stop-over it is easily done in a run. Royan is lovely, we were there last year, if your interested I`ll dig the name out for you, it is on the Keycamp website n a village called Les Palmyres.
