Hi all, does anyone know if there is a site on the island? If not what would be the nearest? Us? Mid 40's, no kids, 1 dog. Don't like the Haven type of site. Thanks!!

Hi Gary

We usually stay at the CC site Seaview Berwick Upon Tweed. Not far to Lindisfarne. I don't recall any sites there two years ago.

Cheers

Afternoon Gary.

There are no sites on Lindisfarne. We stayed at Hagerston Castle.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!! by the sound of it, it wouldn't suit you either.

However, there's a nice little cl site at Bamburgh - all amenities and cheap.

Or there's a much larger commercial site at Alnwick which is obviously more expensive. Not stayed here ourselves but have heard it,s nice.

Have a good trip.

We're going to Waren Park at the end of July. Like yourselves we don't have children and are in our mid 30's/early 40's. We've never actually been to the area or the actual park but chose this park due to it's close proximity to Bamburgh and Holy Island. I believe there are views of Holy Island from the park and it's also quite reasonably priced in peak season. Pitches vary according to your requirements - we booked an "all singing and dancing one"! The site accepts dogs and I don't think they charge that much per dog (although ours are staying in local kennels on this occasion!).

If you go onto the UK Campsite website and do a search for Bamburgh you can then check out the reviews. Otherwise, go direct to www.meadowhead.co.uk

Hope this helps?

Hi Gary,

I can confirm that there is no caravan sites on Holy Island itself, however the following Caravan Club CL, is situated approx half Mile from the start of the causeway, across to Holy Island. I have not stayed here but had a look in last year, its along a long drive way upto this farm, a little small but looked nice to me and would try it in the future..

Hi Andrew.

Yes, your county has one of the finest coastlines in the country.

You really could do with a better selection of quality sites, though

Haggerston Castle.....Uugghh!

We're booked on C&CC site at Dunstan Hill near Alnwick in Northumberland for Easter. Not been before but couldn't get on River Breamish and couldn't face Haggerston Castle again - we're with you on this one, Dave & Dee!

Absolutely love the North East, the beaches are superb and relatively quiet - compared to Cornwall at least. The view of the beach from Bamburgh Castle is truly wonderful.

Try to pay a visit to Eyemouth just over the Scottish border and chances are you'll see wild seals in the harbour - our kids love it.
