Home Hook-up

Hi all,

I keep my caravan at home. Is it OK to leave it permanently

connected to the mains ? It's a new Compass Corona so has up to date electric systems.

Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael, mines plugged in all the time at home keeping the battey topped up, which in turn keeps the alarm going and when I want to move it the motor mover works as well!

Michael

I have kept my van hooked up for years, I also have a half kilowat heater with stat that keeps the van from freezing and getting damp, now planing an alarm that will go off if the mains is unpluged without first disabling it.Every little helps

when it comes to keeping your van safe.

David, could you let me into the secret of how to, with the alarm if you get it sorted, it sounds like an ace idea for those who keep hooked up all the time.

thanks

Any standard car alarm with a voltage drop sensor would do the job. When the 'vans hooked up the voltage will be 13.8-14.1v, as soon as it's unplugged the voltage will drop immediately to about 12.7v, triggering the alarm.

Thanks guys for the info, ill have a look at this.

As for E Bay my better half moans if I buy too much off there, we cant win can we
