Posting with Dan and Paula on caravan insurance made us think about our house hold insurance.
The renewal papers came through the other day and looked ok. Only when we checked did we see the premium had risen by 33% to £470.00!
I rang and challenged the insurer who said the number of claims had caused the increase. I have never had a claim!!
I was then transferred to their "Retention Department", who very quickly agreed to renewal at the same price as last year!!
Well a few more calls and I now have a short list of two with premiums around £240.00. Identical cover although the Caravan Club one does give 90days unoccupancy cover against the other's 60 days whilst the rest of the market usually only give 30 days.
Has anyone used the CC scheme via Devitt Insurance? The proposed insurer is Fortis who I know are pretty good.
