Honda CRV Diesel Automatic

My preferred choice of outfit is a Honda CRV auto towing a 1600kg caravan (island bed coachman) but that's not possible so I need to either look at alternative autos capable of towing over 1600kg or find a caravan closest to the spec we want that is below 1500kg.

My question therefore is does anyone use the CRV auto to tow a caravan whose MTPLM is around 1500kg ( which is the maximum permitted tow weight on the auto box)?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Red Mike,
Typical you get a good car only to be let down by the autobox.
I tow with a kuga auto which tows well but won't have the same comfort level.
I will be checking out the ssanyong korando next time with 2000 kg towing capacity.
Both have decent fuel economy bearing in mind that ssanyong's fuel figures are a lot nearer the mark than most manufacturers.

It is indeed typical transient1. Test driving a CX5 sport auto and a freelander 2 SD4 auto this week. Tried to arrange a drive in a santa fe but local hyundai dealer not very helpful
