Honda EX650 Generator trips with no load

Hi all, I have been gifted and old but very rarely used Honda EX650 Generator. I have got it running smoothly (cleaned carb) but every time I press the circuit breaker for 240v it will not latch (instantly trips)

I have previously had it running a couple of years ago when I borrowed it and it was the last time it was used and I had no issues with it electrically.

Just hoping that someone has had a similar issue and can point me in the right direction.

Without being able to test the components its impossible to define what has failed. But its possible one of the miniature circuit breakers may have become damaged by age and is now ultra sensitive.
