Hooray for holidays!

According to a recent survey, caravanners take twice as many holidays than the national average – sounds good to us! So, how many times a year do you get away in your caravan? We'd love to hear your stories and see your photos. And if you want to help inspire fellow caravanners, why not review sites you've recently stayed at by going here: http://bit.ly/J25VQi.

I would agree with the survey results.
We get away at every opportunity especially weekend breaks where we meet lots of other like minded people.
It's surprising how many people travel less than 20 miles for a weekend break.

we used to go away about every six to eight weeks for a long weekend then two weeks in the school summer holidays.

Now joined a van owners club and go rallying vertually every two weeks.

A bit more of a hassle making sure the van can cope off electric especially in the winter, but well worth it.

No garden at home so love going away, opening the door and stepping straight onto grass.

We would be lost without the van now.

Cheers
John

We agreed that as we were paying well over £200 a month in loans/insurance (let alone the cost of all the things needed to go with a caravan) that we would get away as much as possible and had done 104 nights plus since March 2012 - not bad considering we both work full time (I get school holidays off but OH doesn't) and we said right from the off that we weren't going to sit at home looking at the caravan on the drive wasting all that money and so far, it's worked! What I love is that you can't answer the phone (home), answer the door, worry about putting the next load of washing in or mowing the lawn if you're away in your van with all your home comforts (OK so mine consists of bunting, fairy lights, candles and lots of hanging things, and OH consists of a bottle opener!). We usually stick to a 25 mile radius and you could be 5 or 500 miles from home, but you are not at home and that to us, is what makes it all worthwhile. Roll on the better weather.
