Horsey Quetsion.

Travelling back from Dorset last week on the A350 we passed an Equine Stable and Therapy Centre. How on earth can you give therapy to a horse? Me thinks this is just another gimmick and next thing they will be having shrinks for them should they throw a wabbly.

Just popped in (they have a lap top with broadband for hire here). How sad am I?

Some injuries need certain therapy. For instance, they might have a hydro pool (sp). Certain injuries benefit from swimming in a pool as there is no weight on the joints.

We did an inspection at one of these centres last year, what we saw was similar to a walk in shower (on a massive scale), the horse walks into this sort of shower, the plastic doors are closed and warm water fills the area very quickly. As the warm water fills the receptical, the horse then starts to swim (under supervision). It's amazing to watch. When the horse exits the water, it is led to an area where it stands under blowers and is dried quickly and safely.

Therapy can also be in the form of accupuncture, manipulation, massage. Therapy can also mean, gentle supervised exercise.

Pin firing was illegal but I think it's ok again now. (Firing the tendons).

If you have a competiton or race horse, the animal might be worth megga bucks and any form of treatment will be considered.

Anyway, hope you are all ok and missing me.

Lisa thanks for your detailed reply - talk about pampering - I don't get that myself at home. Any problems and the wife makes me sort myself out - all she is interested in is the insurance policies (hehehehe). Hope you are enjoying your holiday and that the weather is behaving itself for you - see you when you return. I could have stayed away longer but necessaty insisted that we came home. Have a good time.

Hi emmerson

I've certainly needed my wellies (the old green ones as husband moaned about my spending 20.00 pounds on those fabulous stripey ones). Can't find the pound sign on this laptop.

I lost my raincoat (I think at a dog show) but bought a new one before we left which was an absolute godsend.

If I don't get on here again emmerson, have a lovely time away.

Have you ever thought about going over to Notts? I could organise for you to sit in a fire engine if you'd like.

Thanks Colin, you're talking to a woman who bought a swimming pool for her dogs.

When we had our dog (cross between a dalmation and goodness knows what) my wife would let her sleep on the bed. It was the best contraceptive in Bridgend. We bought a new divan and she could not jump up on it so the wife placed a pouffe next to the bed for her. My wife and I would be on each edge of the bed and the dog in between us.

Colin this is what one of my girls wants to do when she get her Degree. We have to send her to some race course( i forget the name). After she has finished she will be able to use physio on people and animals. We have to pay

Diane I know the feeling - our son has just achieved a 2.1 degree in Construction Management after two years hard study (full time), He now has a very good job with a company car - (fell in lucky) hasn't started to pay his way yet as he has a few loans, bills to pay out of his first month's salary.
