Hot Fuse Box Bailey Senator 6 Series

can any body help

i have just taken delivery of my caravan

and have just plugged into the main in our house so i can clean and charge battery etc..etc

i have noticed that the fuse box is getting quite warm and smells a little

is this normal for a new fuse box or could it be faulty??

It could well be normal but certainly worth querying with the manufacturer/dealer - do it by writing or e-mail if possible, so you have a record of their reply.

That sounds familiar

Our series 5 Senator fuse panel got so warm that the printing on the front faded and I had to print out a new set of labels with my dymo type of printer

A hot fuse box?

I'm surprised by that - if it truly is just a fuse box (or MCB box) then this shouldn't get hot or even warm.

Heat implies the use of electrical power - and that implies an unwanted resistance (loose or defective connection or defective MCB trip)

If the fuse box also includes the 12 volt power pack (transformer) which recharges the caravan battery and runs the pumps, etc., then that the transformer will get warm doing it's job - but hopefully not too warm.

As suggested - speak with the manufacturer.
