Hi all, Need some practical advice about my cascase 2 water system, runs ok on hook up no real problems apart from the wait! when on a rally with 12v only, cant get the thing to run on gas at all, the 3 light control pannel never lights up ever (not even with hook up). i have checked all fuses and obvious connection problems but it seems to be dead? i am aware of the risks of tampering with this sort of thing but wanted some advice before contacting a mobile engineer. does it sound like the 3 light control pannel is screwed?? if it is i cant change it anyway as it is a soldered connection to the rear and looks complicated! any advice would be most welcome.many thanks

The first thing is that there should NOT be any soldered connections to the wall switch, it should be a screw capture.
So,you have an already butchered problem to start with.
If the switch does not illuminate at all, it means there is no 12v to it.
Have you checked the fuses inside the wall switch?

The second problem is that spares for the Cascade are getting very rare with some parts simply unobtainable any more.

You need to get the unit checked and see what is wrong and if it is repairable or not.

I don't think I could possibly cope with every Cascade problem but apart from 240v heating elements, all parts are available or at least repairable?
News Flash....I'm now having Tie Rods made and fresh stock is due in on Friday, Fusible Plugs have took rather longer to organise but with luck at the same or sometime week after

With this problem, first question is how old and or which type control switch ?
Sounds like the later press button switch or perhaps a rocker switch as part of a main control panel?

1993 bailey champagne, the switch is a push button type with 3 very small lights (vertically displayed) to the rear there is no cover and it looks like there are v-small white clip type connectors connecting the wires to the switch, i hope this helps, thanks for the responses they are most welcome
cheers

Not the original switch then? this would have been a suface mount box with a slide switch for on and off.
Which suggests your Cascade has had a 'Henry' replacement 'Burner Module' rather than a Carver which would not have required a new switch as well, so does this switch say 'Carver' on it? or no name on it?
sorry to have to ask another question
