Any one bought a house recently.

Was it a pain?

and were they asking for "please provide evidence of the source of"

on all manners of things.

Driving me mad and winding me up so much.

Smiley.

My parents bought numerous houses when I was kid and more since, I have had bought a few and helped with daughters purchase and other inexperienced friends.

My dad decided bought and moved into one in 19 days in 1980.

That is the only stress free easy quick purchase I have experienced. Expect a nightmare and tearing you hair out, the unexpected and not prepared for allways seems to happen in my book ;-(

No, haven't bought a house in 23 years, and wouldn't want to. My son has just bought his first home, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. What with mortgage arrangements that left him

We've not had problems before but because of money laundering it a pain with the building society.

Every one ready to go including us but we still have not had official offer.

The actual wording in their letter is provide evidence of the SOURCE of deposit.

1. We are not paying a deposit.

2. After 20 years of moving houses we couldn't even begin get any records to proove the source.

3. I could if I wanted show all my accounts that we hold, but that is not and does not show where the source of my money came from.

I know I'm being a bit pigheaded, but what a stupid question.

I don't know if all BS are asking this question but the one we're dealing with is.

and we have to pay them for using our own solicitor to boot.
