Do you still use the phone or book on line technology?

If like me I prefer to speak to some one at the other end, tried to book two sites yesterday, one which was a
C & CC site and there was no answer on the phone after trying several times, so resorted to the on line booking
Oh what was my password, ah lets go through the reset password thing again, then open email to get link :(
then I rang the other site and had a lovely conversation with the friendly lady on the other end,
Oh for the art of conversation.

What do you do?

With CC main sites - on line, but see below
With CLs you have to ring them direct in any case
Commercial sites - ring the site directly

I tried extending the arrival day at Bolton Abbey (the pre Woosie stopover) by one day but the on line booking said the site was fully booked for that night for pitches with awning and wouldn't let me reserve the night. I rang the site direct the following day and within 15 seconds had the extra night booked. I think the wardens have discretion over about 5% of the pitches which aren't available via the on line system.

In the main we use C&CC licensed sites and normally just send an email if booking well in advance, only bother phoning if going at short notice.

We use the internet for club sites although have been known to ring commercial sites but not always.
The internet looks a good way to do it as in most cases you get am instant receipt for the booking which you can check giving you peace of mind that the details are correct.
