Why do you think you are "roughing it" by staying on a CL?

Put him on iggy Wendy. He's obviously never used a CL/CS.

One particular site I know of, near Cirencester, is a CC site in miniature, even using the same chemical toilet disposal facility. Across the road is a field to take your dog.
Om doesn't say why he cannot book complete weeks so I'm surmising that he works and his holidays are taken up with his travels abroad as he posted

Why oh why do people buy caravans with full bathroom facilities and never use them?
smiley-undecided.gif

I see Bunree is pretty full again. I stayed there 5 years ago and can honestly say the toilet seats never got cold due to the high volume of people using the facilities.

Thank God I don't use them!
I like to know who's been parked on the seat before me!!!

well , i got home from WORK , its that thing we do during the day, to find Chatsworth and other local sites fully booked up for most weekends.

This has become a total farce.

I did manage to book into Grin Low in May but the price ?.... £90.0 . Cancelled it.

There are much nicer CL's near by although my kids do like a play area although a field, a football, and a frisbee will have to suffice.

The only reason i want to go to Chatsworth is its easy to get to from home. When i leave work at 5.30 on a friday i can be at Chatsworth in les than 30mins. The closest i ever get to Chatsworth is to visit the farm shop at Xmas for my meat and cheese.

We've stayed on some very nice CL's and some very basic CL sites but some are a little remote and we've also waited for the owners to turn up a few times. We pay the same as other CC members, CC do not warn new members about block booking and the pitch scramble. It would have been nice to get on one or two of the clubs sites with roadways and hard standings for a couple of two week slots. All we've managed is weekdays and then move for the weekend to a CL when we entertained relatives visiting UK.
If we'd known about the booking shenanagins and no booking deposit we probably wouldn't have joined or taken out CC insurance, You would think that you could find a pitch for ten days or more somewhere on a CC site a couple of weeks before you want it. But we've not managed that in five seasons.

We hardly ever had a problem booking a week or more on CC sites, even some of the more popular ones like Ferry Meadows and Broadway. But then, as I said before, we almost never went during school holidays.

Finally booked Easter / Royal Wedding at CC site...took ages!! I know of another CC member who books (almost) every weekend from May - Sept and then cancels them Thursday before if the weather looks dodgy! Should the CC start asking for deposits?

In the immortal words of long lost Val this really gets my goat

Just checked Chatsworth to see what Spadders is on about.
Weekend still available in April. Two weekends still available in July. Three weekends available in August. Two in September. Four in October. Three in November. That was at 19.30. Obviously last night there was even a bigger selection
