How should you prepare your van for winter storage.

I have just had my first winter with a caravan. When I was putting it away for winter i drained the water from the system but failed to drain the water heater, this looks like it has resulted in a leak which could be costly to repair.

Are there any other things that I should be doing?

all due respect here, but that might have been a good question to post around last september, then ye would have got the advice needed.

hope its no too expensive for the repair buddy.

Hi Gary,

Read this and your other post re your water heater leak. As you now know draining the water system should include draining the water heater as well. When draining down you should leave all the water taps open.

Another water system to drain is the holding tank for the rinse water for the onboard toilet.
