How To Fix Stiff Blinds/Flyscreens.

We have on our 2010 Swift Challenger the combo of the concertina paper type blind which locks onto the flyscreen so you can use one or the other.

We have found that these are very stiff to move up/down although they do move im worried that my fingers will go through either the blind or the flyscreen if my hand slips pulling up/down.

Is there a liquid solution of some sort that i can either spray or apply into the side tracks to make them slide somewhat easier.

Thanks in advance.

Tony.

Thanks Camel, Im in Brisbane Australia and we dont have Halfords so imagine any Silicone spray would do the job.......would that be correct ?

The blinds appear to be similar to the type I have and I have had to carry out remedial works on some of them.

I suggest dismantling the blind(s) cassette and checking out the cause of the problem(s), my experience is that the guides jam for reasons other than requiring lubrication.

The blinds are relatively easy to 'figure out' after some study of the workings, youtube videos may be of help.

After fixing my blinds I have not had a need to apply lubricant to the guides, indeed I would not as my blinds have nylon fabric type guides and I think that lubes would just gunge them up and attract dirt, causing problems further down the road.
