Very interesting article, especially on the regulators / chargers

We have a 100W solar panel which keeps our leisure battery and vehicle batteries fully charged. One important point we learned was that if the batteries discharged, our alarm stopped working and consequently our insurance was invalid.

Hence the initial reason for fitting the solar panel, our van is in a secure storage compound but there is no 240v power available.
