hurn lane caravan club site, burnham on sea

Have stopped there overnight on many occasions whilst travelling to & from Devon/Cornwall. Nice, well run site with easy access from the M5. Busy area in the summer with lots of other sites nearby. Not sure I'd want to stay for a longer holiday, but we prefer less commercialised area's anyway.

Hi Jo-Anne

We also stayed here for 2 nights to break the journey to Cornwall. I agree with Gooner its a very nice site with well spaced level hardstand pitches. We visited Cheddar on our second day, we thoroughly enjoyed it.We didn't see much of Burnham on day one as it was pouring with rain.

Hi Jo-anne

Showers are good, as on most CC sites. Yes to the hard standings, and good sized pitches in general.

Lots to do in the area Weston just a short drive away, Burnham, Brean, Uphill are all worth a visit, particularly if you like walking or cycling.

We stayed last year. A beautiful and well kept site BUT if you have any animals with you I suggest you find an alternative. The only 'doggy walk' is outside the gates on a narrow winding country road. This is an extremely dangerous D-restricted road without any pavements. The locals (both young and old) enjoy travelling at 60 mile an hour and we dog walkers constantly ended up in the ditches. Wouldn't go back again.

There was a thread on this last year. You may be able to pull it up still. It was around July!!! Hope this helps.

hi there, thanks for that we wont be going there then.we have a beautiful expensive well loved staffie and dont want to lose her.thanks for letting me know.

i would only use ccsite at burnham as a stop over.site is up to usual cc standards but!!!!!the area of burnham and brean is wall to wall caravans.very narrow ,busy road through to brean, ihesitate to to give its full name of brean sands,as most of the area is mud flats, ibeleive someone has to be rescued most weeks during summer.if you want a family hol.with kids then you would be better off in skegness.the site is good and although we spend most of season in scotland we enjoy taking grandchildren there for a week.sometimes tackiness is fun

Jo Anne

I have just put a link on "FAO jo-anne" where people are suggesting sites you might like to think about which are great for dogs.
