Hyundai i800

Am looking at one for work with occasionally towing van.Its rear wheel drive with traction control,is that likely to be better on grass rally field than our front wheel drive 04 galaxy?

Rear wheel drive should be better on wet grass than front with the van attached. I have looked at them and for the money they appear very good! I was told at the time they are pretty much to order with a three month wait unless you can find a demo one. Discounted due to lack of four wheel drive which we often need in the winter on CL's/CS's but would certainly of considered it near the top of the list otherwise.

Hi Martin, thanks for the reply, you are right about the lead time but as I can get it in metallic black with leather seats for 18900 I think we are likely to place order.I would like a 4wd but there is only caravelle/transporter 4motion which is 30k ish and I just cant afford that.Hyundai do 4wd version in asia,Starion but not here and you cant add anything,eg passenger seat is not heated and you cant pay and have it added but thats low on my list.

I also looked at the 4motion caravalle, by the time I'd got to the spec I wanted it was 42k!!!! No way was I paying that for a glorified mini bus, even though I did rather like it!!!!! However when you look at the Hyundai and that you could have two and change it's a no brainer. We think we've decided on a nearly new Disco4 or a new XC90 planning on keeping it though for the next 20 years!

They are now starting to build autos for UK market as they are looking at the mobilty sector for sales so that will probably swing it for us,just have to check if it requires an oil cooler for the transmission ,its about 2k more but price possibly includes cruise control,RFL is a little higher as well.

sounds good, can't say as I enjoy driving with a twiddly stick much but swmbo keeps with manual for her cars despite her being happy towing with my autos. of course with fuel prices we use hers a lot more than mine so I end up having to change gears when I remember!! haha
