My sink has split , just at the corner where the tap/shower head is inserted.

There has been no wear and tear as the caravan has only been out three times since May.

The caravan is a Swift Charisma 565 { 2009 model}

I hope I don't have any problems getting it fixed.

I love the caravan and hope nothing else will go wrong.

Hi Susan,

If you haven't done so already, you need to visit your dealer, for them to assess the parts required. They will need to submit a claim to us, and if approved, we will send your dealer the parts required and pay the labour charges.

I hope that helps.

Hello Susan,

You have two methods of dealing with this problem. Both do require that the product has been used in accordance with its instructions, and that nothing untoward has happened to damage the item. If this is the case then the goods are likely to be faulty and subject to remedy under the Sale Of Goods Act(SoGA).

Firstly, under UK law you have the benefit of a legal warranty from the seller(SoGA). This is your statutory right. When you purchased the caravan you had a contract between you and the seller. If the product was faulty the seller is legally required to remedy the problem. Note this is between you and the seller and Swift's approval is not required as they were not a party to the contract.

Secondly you may if you choose invoke Swifts Manufacture guarantee. Her it does require Swifts approval and you must follow Swifts instructions.

Thanks Ash,

We have sent the photos and vin number to the dealer, who I presume will contact yourselves.

The sink is split at the right hand corner where the tap is situated.

The tap has never been out of the hole as we don't use the shower.

We think that the actual tap is a bit heavy for the plastic sink.

It is certainly not from over use as we have only been out in the caravan three times since new!

The caravan is brilliant , so hopefully this will be sorted quickly.

Regards

Susan

Hi Susan,

I too have had to have a sink replaced, but it had cracked around the plug hole (common fault I believe).

I can safely say that Swift are on the ball and stepped in to rectify the problem after the dealer's incompetence lead to me requiring a whole new bathroom including walls and shower tray.
