I need help!!!!

We are due to go away next Tuesday - Spain being our final destination - we tow with a Pegueot 406 hdi 136bhp, with a swift challenger hanging on behind.

Now - would i be right in thinking that we can ----

a) drive with the air-con - with caravan attached, and

b) use cruise control - when the conditions allow us too.

Any help in clarifying these two matters would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Lorraine

Lorraine, you can do both of them if you wish. With regards to the air con it does take power from the engine but who really knows the actual affect at any specific time. If the car appears happy and you are cool then all to the good.

I personally do not use the cruise control very much but that is personal choice. There is no technical reason not to use it but take the care you would when towing that you do when using it solo.

If the car were to be working hard on hills and engine temp rising it would be wise to switch off air con and use the power whereits needed. Cruise control on motorway is great. No problem.

Yep! - should be fine - just keep an eye on the temperature gauge - especially as you get to sunnier climes and go over the Pyrenees!

Have a great time - what part of Spain?

Hi Lorriane,

Just a point don't forget the A/C works a lot harder in Spain than it does in the UK. We find it really does reduce the cars power when climbing on motorways etc. Enjoy the Sol.
