Iceland

Afternoon campers, Hi De Hi
Well next year myself and SWMBO are hoping to do a Grand Tour and one place we like to do is Iceland but I cannot find any ferry companys that go that way. I realise that I shall probably have to via Norway or some other Scandanavian country but do any of you good people have any knowledge of any ferry companys that sail to Iceland.
We have visited Iceland via a cruise boat and done various tours but it was like being on a Benny Hill tour, you know, off the coach for 10mins then back on, then onto next stop then repeat procedure.
Thanks All
Simon

We took our caravan to Iceland in 2000 for a 2 week trip once round the island. Smyril Line operate a weekly ferry service from Hirtshals, Denmark, via the Faroe Islands. It was a fantastic trip and the ferry crossing, which takes 2½ days, has the flair of a cruise. Be prepared for a bit of a shock when you see the prices, though, especially if you've got a largish outfit. We thought we'd bought the ferry, but in the end it was worth every penny.
