Hello just read the thread on the bbc poll.

I see you're a train driver. Who do you drive for and where.

I work on the railway,overhead line, so i spend my working day jumping out of the way of trains.We also do as you will know cab patrols so we could have unknowingly met.

Hi Will, i work for Northern out of manchester victoria.

Lime street is one of my routes which i do regularely via chat moss, i dont sign cheshire lines as picc men cover that route, although i do sign cheshire lines stockport to chester.

Other routes i sign are, vic to blackpool via lostock and west coast main line, vic to southport, wigan wallgate and northwestern, wakefield, chester, clitheroe,rochdale plus all the local depots and diversions.

It is a great job which i enjoy even the shift work, i find the majority of passengers friendly and courtious but i do go out of my way to speak to them and keep them informed if theire is a problem, i find that if you tell them then they allways understand.

you will know if you get in the cab with me as i apparently never stop smiling?.

Hello Icemaker

We don't travel on those lines. The chat mosses are right outside our offices. We are based opposite Edge Hill signal box.

We travel into Crewe then on to Manchester.
