Anyone used 12v version for wheel nuts etc? Have they lots of torque?

I am looking at one to engage my mover?

Whatever you do, do NOT use an impact wrench on movers.

They are not at all suitable and will cause damage to the mover, which will NOT be covered by warranty.

The rollers are not hard to engage with the wrench supplied, but if you do hav trouble, there is the option to have electronic engagement.

Impact wrenches no no no!!!!!!!

Any use of a vibrating tool wiil without doubt damage your mover.

If you have to by all means use a long handled socket wrench, but again have respect for the torque you are applying to the shaft of the mover.

What I would do talk to the manufacturer and as what torque factor they have designed into the mechanisum. If they are worth their salt, they will give you a lbs per square foot rating for the pressure required to engage the rollers. Now you can use a torque wrench wich can be set to the correct torque force and also it should have a long enough handle to do the task safely.

If your mover requires more effort than specified my the maufacturer you should then discuss this with them and also as you have followed their technical advice, your warrantee remains intact.

OK guys, now i know how the wrench works, it is not the piece of kit i will use, i just required a bit of extra torque, to get the rollers into the drive position in a restricted space, not the impact hammer action.

Thanks for your input and advice, that is duly noted

Steve, the easiest way of engaging the rollers is to start off with the socket extension (if using one of the extending single socket wrenches as supplied by Powrtouch) short whilst fitting to the drive shaft, then extend it as you lift the handle and pivot towards the wheel.

Stand behind the handle and with arm straight, just lean forward, using your body weight to engage the roller.

On our mover the rollers were a s*d to get on, (and the arthritis has not even set in yet.) OH broke one socket thing and bent the bars on the mover over the course of two years of fighting with them. Then we got a motor to engage them. Worth every penny. I can do it now, I had no chance before.
