Inflating air beds

I have a 12volt car tyre inflater - I have been told that the pressure from this inflater is too much to use for pumping up air beds - is this correct as there are accessories with the inflater for pumping up other things? Problem being I have lost the instructions.

You can use it Colin, if you can find the adapter. Keep an eye on it though, as the pressure from the inflater can rupture the bed. Also, you may be there for a while, the tyre inflater is great at supplying air at high pressure, but volume isn't it's strong point.

We use a hairdryer, set on cool, through the large filler hole then top up by mouth using the small filler. This assumes you are on mains electric hook up of course.

Surely the airbed will be lunpy with an hair drier inside it.

My mate borrowed an inflatable bed from us and put it in his car while it was being inflated. He forgot about it, only when he returned to find it had exploded and covered the entire inside of the car in talcalm powder. It took weeks of hoovering to get rid of all the powder!!
