if a caravan is under the ingress warranty are all labour costs covered and repair costs covered ,if a caravan as just be found to have bad damp in it what is the situation here .i am talking about a caravan that has got full service history and the readings for damp is at a high 80% and 50% and a lot of it .

Not to be disrespectful, but if there is a Warranty then there will be a Warranty Card that should state what is covered. It may be in the small print somewhere.
I would assume that all labour and parts to restore the van to an 'undamp' condition will be covered.

Just had a look at my last check and the highest reading is9% and the lowest is 6% so 50 - 80% is b....y wet. Sounds like major failure somewhere rather than just a small leak.

Body leaks and delamination: water ingress through any permanently sealed seam joints or delamination of panels and floor, being part of the original manufacturer's construction.i have damp in a number of places on the van .but will this warranty cover all of this ?

Easy way to find out. Take it back to the dealer you bought it from, and ask.
The dealer will at least give you an estimate of the cost to put matters right, whoever is paying the bill. At that stage it may be a good idea to e mail the manufacturer and advise them of your situation and see what they suggest, if the dealer is not willing to assist you to your satisfaction.
Once you have answers from both those bodies and then, if neither are acceptable, then you need to decide the next course of action. Possibly getting a lawyer involved at that stage may be appropriate.
You have rights under the Warranty provided the servicing has been done correctly, and most importantly, stamped in the warranty book. If this is not the case, then things could get sticky.

hi book serviced and stamped . pushed protimeter pins deep in wood but not to damage it if you know what i mean .readings are correct as the damp can only be found in these areas other parts of the caravan is reading below 15% apart from the damp at the front of van the whole front end 80% where all the windows at ,bottom of door 50% when you come in 80% garage door at the back and sink 20% window and skylights starting to read 16% .considering it has full history and genuine seals out side are not fully bonded and are showing signs of cracks i can't see how its so bad ,according to the service all this was clear on the last service all this as happened in a few months some one will be for the chop once the loss adjuster comes out because this will cost a bit to put right ,

It might help others give you more accurate information if you could give more details such as the age and make of the caravan. Also did you purchase it from a dealership and was this the same dealership that carried out the service and damp checks?

hi most warranties are transferable this one is anyway ,my caravan as gone in for repair .and its covered .the service last here did not pick none of the damp up it may have a Friday caravan and they could not be bothered the reading are high the caravan where the one bit of damp was recalled for a door seal and this should have been done but it never was so to the result of this the water got in so its proves that having a service don't necessary say your caravan was serviced in and out the back door so to speak so next time anyone get service make sure it has been fully damped checked also if you go on YouTube type in protimeter in the search bar you will see how bad this damp is considering it had a service about 7 months ago its not me in the picture doing the testing .there is part 1 part 2 and part 3 on youtube , you will see how to test a caravan with a protimeter .

You first posted this thread after 9pm last night (Friday) asking what would be covered by warranty, i.e labour, repairs etc. Yet in your most recent reply you state your caravan is already in for repair and you know exactly what is being covered, this is less than 24 hours after your first post!!!

hi the reason for the question ,the caravan was in the middle of being transferred over to me the caravan was bought last week and i never claimed on any warranty before we just wanted to know what happens because we found damp .we bought the caravan up country but we forgot to take the damp meter with us .under the assumption as the caravan had full service history we thought is was safe to buy because the seller had all previous damp reports and stamps in the book for the caravan .but when we got home a few days after we checked it for damp and it had high readings in it 50% + .so we thought we be left with a large bill .but everything worked out ok in the end .i was very surprised considering this caravan had high levels of damp and the caravan in question had been recalled for a door seal and this should have been done in the services before ,but it proves that not all caravan service centers are genuine and i would be very weary where people take there caravans for a service .if we did not have the damp protimeter we would have not known if there was damp or not in it so its a good thing we had it tested , i would recommend anyone else that just had a service especially if the caravan is under warranty to get it rechecked just for peace of mind by someone else or get one of these meters because one of these meters only costing over
