inside caravan bike rack

Hi all , has anyone bought the bike rack that goes inside the van , as shown in october magazine, how solid and safe is it ? Brian

I was looking at these too - Carabike if I remember rightly. Looks like a sturdy bit of kit, but I'm a pretty keen cyclist with some expensive bikes (with expensive wheels!) and I don't think that is a particularly gentle way to support a cycle.

So I am going to bolt two of these to a piece of ply - should be a lot lighter too...

The Wiggle fork brackets on a piece of 19mm ply a foot [or there about] wide and an inch shorter than the gap between the furniture bases works a treat. Stagger, the location of the clamps or loosen the handle bars so the bikes "nest". Best designed for bikes going in backwards so you reach the clips! Copydex a bit of carpet on the underside and over the contact ends. In my case I also prefer the pedals removed.

Chris and JTQ have mentioned the fork brackets from Wiggle, if you have a look at these, then also look at the bike bags on the same website.

I have two dhb Marsden wheeled bag sets and these are used to keep mine and the wifes Felt MBs inside the van.

The main bags are wedged between the front seats and the wheel bags slot in between them. The bags are padded so they do not scuff the upholstery.

When we are not using the bikes, they stay in their bags and are hung up in the garage at home.

They do seem expensive, but I bought mine when they had a 50% discount promotion on,
