Insurance for French Storage

We want to store our van from 1 October to end Jan 08.

We have our own caravan Insurance whilst touring abroad but they cannot cover whilst we leave it in secure storage so, therefore, we need a French company to insure it whilst it is in storage. We have searched all internet sites and phoned many companies. We must leave it down South France, as we shall already be there for 4 weeks September. We then would like to collect it in January and winter in Spain.

Can anyone help.

This is a reply from a Brit who lives in France - and insures his van:

"we insure our UK built tourer stored over here with Alain Montagnon Agence in Dinard. They also insure our car and motorbikes too. They have both English and English speaking staff who are very helpful. Give them a call on 00 33 2 96 87 21 21.

Or you can drop them a line on contact at angloagence.com Insurance is cheaper over here than it is in the UK, so may be worth your while comparing prix before comitting yourself!

When we stored our van in France Groupama in France insured it while in storage or on the site but not when we were towing on the road to visit other sites. Just make sure if you get Insurance in France that you will be covered when towing.
