See my comments about the new security alarm text auto dialer, I bought this last week, they advertise in the PC mag in the classified section. Gives me piece of mind for sure, plus it knocked off £40 from my insurance.

Hi Rob,

I read your original posting and had a look at their website, seems quite good. I'm not that technically minded especially when it comes to electrics, apparently it can be connected to existing alarms systems as well as working as a stand alone system, do you know if it is easy to connect to an existing system? Also regarding the phone alerts, going by the website it appears to try a list of numbers until it gets an answer, I'm assuming that means if you have an answering service then an alert will be left and you may not know about it until you access the ansering service. Is that how it works?

Hi Robert,

Looked throught the manual, you can connect the device to an output on a installed alarm system, however I use it as a stand alone unit, It looks basic enought.

You can get the device to sent to many numbers at the same time if you like, which would stop the answer phone issue being a problem.

Rob, had a look at the website today and it does indeed look good. The only query I have is the entry and exit from your van if using as a stand alone unit. Do you have to send it a txt message to disarm/ arm when you go out or come in, as i cant see any info on switching on or off other than that.
