Insurance

What do you want to insure and against what?

The car?

The caravan?

Yourselves? - health etc?

Holiday cancalation due to illness etc?

Contents?

Bearing in mind that you can insure yourself against alien abduction these days - I am sure the answer to your question is "yes!"

Not sure whether you want to be away for the wole year, or just to make several trips in the one year.

If the latter, Caravan Club offer a multi=trip insurance and CCC offer (I think) cover for 180 days which you can use up in a number of trips.

You may have much more trouble finding domestic house insurance to cover you during absence, especially if you do not have family who will stay (even for the odd night) in the house while you are away.

Someone checking or visitng the house but not staying there usually does not count. Even Caravan Club linked house insurance does not cover this.
