international phone cards - france

Shortly off to france for a few weeks and will need to call USA several times while there.

In spain we get International phone cards from supermarkets etc. which give very good value.

Anyone know if these are available in France, where from, and any suggestions about "best buy" - thanks.

A site we stayed on in France sold phone cards at the reception office - a Dutch lady told my wife they were very good value to Holland; to USA maybe not - so possibly the sites you visit will do the same. But if not reception would be able to point you towards a source. Like the Tabac - where they sold postage stamps which was a blessing as the site could only sell stamps for cards bought there and the post office seemed to be forever shut.

Yes, they are available in France, we used one this Summer, (to ring the USA the 6 hour difference was the biggest problem!).

You can get them from any "Tabac" in the form of a till receipt containing a long number(write it down somewhere as it wears off the receipt)

Make sure you ask for an "INTERNATIONAL Phone Card"
