Just thought I would give some background, have been under canvas for a loooong time, not too much recently. My wife and I like to follow motorracing, so the van is used for that, much more civilised than a tent, quicker too.
We have an Elddis Eclipse van on a Renault classis, 1996, very nice good starter van, re upholstered warm and dry, to see if we liked the hobby.
We looked at new and newer vans but it is a lot of weekends away, not always easy to do, work commitments.

Very wise to try with an older van, and as you are still working, makes sense . WHEN you retire then would be the time (If you wish to go further and longer , to buy a newer van. Glad you are enjoying you
