Inundated by flies in the awning how do you get rid of them ??

Whilst we have just been away for a few days, we seem to have been inundated by flies in the awning how do you get shut of them ??

Could it be due to this muggy weather we are having ??

Thanks in advance for suggestions / replies

We use an electric flyer killer and hang it from a central pole, similar to ones they use in the butchers / bakeries.

My mum also bought an electric tennis racquet, hubby won a few games last week! I thought it was not fair the flyers didn't stand a chance with no racquet.

What type of awning are you using? Is it a Suncamp-type (nylon) or canvas? We had a Sumcamp and flies (plus all sorts of other insects) gathered in the roof area which was very annoying, and it had to go. We use Citronella candles now in our canvas awning and have no problems.

Another thought occurred to me - are the flies hatching from the grass under foot in the awning? Either way Citronella candles should give you some respite.
