Not all Emus are in Australia! 🤷Gosh not all Ostriches are in Africa. 🙈
It's interesting that Labradoodles first appeared in the late 1980s, bred in Australia for guide dog roles and not shedding hair they could be partnered with blind or partially sighted owners who where allergic to dog hairs/dander etc. The breeder in later years regretted his action which had morphed into uncontrolled breeding of other types with unsatisfactory traits.Amazing social intercourse recently about what is a Mutt🤪
On my uncle’s farm it was simple.
A pure bred had parents of the same breed.
A mongrel was anything else.
Covid brought in this ridiculous high priced “ designer “ type mixing up small poodles etc with all soft mouthed retrievers because people didn’t want dog hairs and dogs that would return without training! Or so they thought🤬
Still nothing more than highly overpriced Mutts😎
I totally agree, I know a person who bought a Cockapoo, and proudly pranced around with Fifi, with its designer harness, telling people it’s a “Cockapoo” ……..She paid 1K for a mongrel! 🤪Amazing social intercourse recently about what is a Mutt🤪

All this recent woke stuff makes me 🤮How strange you cannot use the word for a female dog! 🤷🙄
I doubt that either Shakespeare or Chaucer would get much airtime these days. In fact when our school took us to the RST at Stratford on Avon most of us shot off to the pub instead. Similarly our London trip to the Science Museum saw Form 5B spending most of the day in post codes W1D and W1F.All this recent woke stuff makes me 🤮
Absolutely no racial or demeaning words should be used but when parts of Shakespeare and Chaucer are classed as unacceptable??
My female dogs vaccination cards were clearly printed the 5 letter word beginning with B.
It wasn’t Basil or Boris🤪
Or pavement special! 🤣All the people who think up fancy names for cross-breeds would like mongrels consigned to history - but that's what they are!
At one time Springers were not recognised as a breed, but that changed when breeding consistency was achieved with lineage registers too. Times move on.All the people who think up fancy names for cross-breeds would like mongrels consigned to history - but that's what they are!
1902 was when the Kennel Club recognised the English Springer Spaniel as a distinct breed - but in reality they aren't one single breed - a field-bred dog and a show-bred dog appear to be different breeds but are registered together. The gene pools are almost completely segregated and have been for at least 70 years. A field-bred dog would not be competitive in a modern dog show, while a show dog would not have the speed or stamina to succeed in a field trial. At one time Springers were not recognised as a breed, but that changed when breeding consistency was achieved with lineage registers too. Thanks I deferred from going in to too much detail but having owned two Springers (non KC registered) mine came from different working lines but both had their lineage going back many generations, with Field Champions included. As you say totally different to show lineage. They are the two on my avatar. Darwin’s evolution isn’t really applicable when humans breed animals or foods for specific purposes.1902 was when the Kennel Club recognised the English Springer Spaniel as a distinct breed - but in reality they aren't one single breed - a field-bred dog and a show-bred dog appear to be different breeds but are registered together. Frankly, it's all an artificial market creation that attempts to stretch Darwin's theory of evolution beyond all sensible bounds.
Lovely looking dogs, nice photo.Like Clive my Avatar changes year by year from one sister to the other.Working ESS.
No KC. It seems to me the KC ones are much larger and not of working extraction.
The last two had a string of Fiels Trials Champions in their blood lines. Including the Badgecourts, Rytex and Edgecourts. All producing numerous FTC.
They were sensible money , even a discount because we had two. They were small but nuclear powered, strong swimmers and not afraid of mud. All lungs and muscle.View attachment 9288
My two Springers cost nothing. Free to good homes. My present one was a rehome and I made a donation to a mental health charity at the owners request. My Irish Setter, Wenvoe strain, was also free as she dribbled on the owners leather seats. In truth I’ve rarely paid anything or very little for dogs. The biggest purchase being two Border Collie pups. Seen here with my grandson, who is now 30+.Cost of dogs now is eye watering even for the pavement specials known as designer dogs!
