I have been just told by the locals that some CLs here in Somerset (where I am now) are £12 in low season.
Yes there are sites at that price and that’s what makes them attractive for so many., especially since solar panels, led lighting etc enables longer stays off grid.

We are a member and often use the sites but never if over £40, the free night on offer before the end of March almost paid the annual fee. Plus we joined the Caravan & Camping Club and received two free nights so a deal.

We have decided not to continue the membership for CAMC

In our eyes it hasn't been worth paying the year membership, as we only used it for the discount on the Shop

And even then you still get charged delivery, regardless of how much $$ you buy.

Not for us sadly :)

It is not worth the membership fee for the shop although even with the delivery fee we have made small savings. Possibly the breakdown cover is the one that makes it worthwhile if you do not use the sites or CL's. The cover cannot be matched at the price and you have to join the C&CC to get that cover but at a higher cost.

We found that many items in the CAMC shop were a lot cheaper elsewhere! However we keep up our membership for the breakdown cover and CL network. For the first time in several years we may be using CAMC site this year.
