Isle of White

Has anyone used Red Funnel ferries over to the Isle of White? Are they drive on / drive off? Heard so many horror stories regarding ferries and having to turn around in the boat!! It will be our first time to take the van onto one!!

Jason

No problem they are drive on drive off the only thing I would say to be aware of is that they only have a small holding area for vehicles and in busy times you may have to use the adjacent car park which may involve some manouevering. The ferrie is no problem so as long as you do not turn up hours in advance you should be OK

38 ton articulated trucks use these ferries!

You won't have a problem Jason.

Drive on drive off.

Great views of Southampton water and the docks.

You might get to see some of the worlds biggest ships using the Container Terminal.

Are you going into Cowes during Cowes Week..... more sights

Thanks for the info. No we are going for the last two weeks in august. Thanks again.

I know that the Solent is apparently the most expensive stretch of water in the world when it comes to ferry fares but, unless there has been a coup in the last couple of days, the Isle of Wight is still UK territory! lol.
